Description: Artifact multi--d artifact as a method to deliver multi-media segments [sound/images] within a gallery or small room setting.

Research context: Tibetan Book of the Dead, Egyptian Book of the Dead, and various myths and stories of Day of the Dead celebrations amongst many cultures. By way of abstract sights and sounds the artist provides imaginary glimpses of what the sights and sounds as they may seem at the various stages or levels of the human death experience such as: the peeling away of time and light or crossing over.

Key Functionality: Interactive, multi-media, art installation utilizing Processing to implement various visual [still and moving images] to display as a video projection, possibly flashing still images, soundscape composition. The viewer can use the computer keyboard and mouse to activate the installation.

Explanation Building Parts:

1. Wooden cabinet

2. Computer, computer keyboard, computer mouse, Computer Speakers, computer projector

3. Processing: Using a variety of references: Image: PImage() etc. ; Loading & Displaying etc. ; Input: Mouse etc. and Keyboard etc.

4. JAVA Libraries: • Line In • Line Out • Load File • ASCII Video • Loop • Image Buttons

WHAT I PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH: Edit a short video loop and image montage and use Processing to display the image montage and/or 1-2 video/sound loops, comprised of original material photgraphed and created by the artist.

BACK UP PLAN: Cut out the implementation of video/sound and use still images instead and manipulate them with mouse/key press, P5Control buttons, sliders, maybe incorporating pixilation, random() and PFont(); to create a visual statement within the same subject matter of the installation, on a reduced scale.

NOTE: I have a hard copy version of the proposal that has images.
